What: A9-week tech Saturday classfor middle school girls (currently in 5th-9th grade). Students will learn to use MIT's programming tool Scratch to create fun interactive projects like animations and games, including a project about solving social issues using the power of computing. They will also explore careers intechnology and interact with a variety of exciting robots and tech gadgets. No prior programming experience is required!
Who:The class will be taught by the Dream It, Code It founders, Anna Brewer and Maria De Angelis, both 11th graders in the SBHS Computer Science Academy and 2014 NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing winners with years of Scratch experience, who ran a similar programming camp in August 2014. In addition,adult supervisorswill be present at all times.
Where:Santa Barbara Senior High School.
When:January 17-March 21(Saturday),2:00 PMto4:00 PM Excludes January 24th!
Why: We want to equip girls with the skills, knowledge, and passion to bring their ideas to life using technology!
