Dream It, Code It 2015 Summer Camp

What: A two-week tech summer camp for middle school girls (who will be in 6th-9th grade in Fall 2015).  20 campers will learn to use MIT's programming tool Scratch to create fun interactive projects like animations and games (for more information on Scratch, visit www.scratch.mit.edu) and the interactive finch robot (http://www.finchrobot.com/). They will also explore careers in technology and create projects about solving social issues using the power of computing. No prior programming experience is required!

Who: The camp will be led by Anna Brewer and Maria De Angelis, both 11th graders in the SBHS Computer Science Program and 2015 NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing regional and national winners with extensive knowledge of Scratch. In addition, adult supervisors will be present at all times.

Where: Santa Barbara Senior High School Rm 35 (address on registration form below).

When: August 10-21 (Monday to Friday), 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Why: We want to equip girls with the skills, knowledge, and passion to bring their ideas to life using technology!

Cost: Only $75 per camper, thanks to the generous grant we received from NCWIT. Need-based scholarships are also available!

Thank you to NCWIT (National Center for Women and Information Technology) for funding our camp through the AspireIT grant program!
